Question 94 civic for 7000$ is it worth it? need OPINIONS!

i know a guy selling his 94 civic coupe for 7000$ and i some more opinions on if its worth 7000$.
ok i dont remember all of them buy here is the list of mods: Greddy exhaust, lowering springs 2" drop dont know the brand, the dash is custom white w/purple vents, it has alpine cd player, 3 12" JL subs custom moulded in the trunk, sparco rece seats, also has zex nos bottle, euro tail lights, full wings west body kit, 17 inch enkei rims, nice spoiler also dont know the brand, the civic is a ex with 140000 miles on it but he just swaped the engine with a del sol si engine with about 70000 miles on it and it has a AEM cold air intake, over sized throttle body, and 421 header, and the car is custom painted purple. i think there were a few more mods but i dont remember. worth 7k?

Re: 94 civic for 7000$ is it worth it? need OPINIONS!

HELLLL NO. The most I'd pay is $4,200

edit: He's adding all the aftermarket parts into the price which is something you definatly DON'T do. The car is worth like $4,000 and he has about $2,000 of mods. WTF...is he tryin to make profit off of used parts he baught?!?! You can find a car like that for $4,000

Re: 94 civic for 7000$ is it worth it? need OPINIONS!

the reason i would even think about paying 7000$ is because i dont know how to do a lot of the things he did to his and it would end up costing me as much or more to have a shop do all that. ps. how hard would it be for someone that doesn't know much about cars to do a engine swap? if i dont buy this guys civic then i want to get a hatchback and put a B18C1 in it.

i don't think i would pay the full price, make a deal with him, and try to get him down. that has a ton of stuff done to it, i would just check it out and make sure things were done right to it.

Re: Re: 94 civic for 7000$ is it worth it? need OPINIONS!

Dude, $4,500 max. It's an f'in '94 man, with 140,000 miles on the chassis. Wow he has a few bolt-ons.. If you know how to turn a wrench you can do that yourself. I have a 2000 hatchback with a type R engine and would be lucky to get $8k - $9k, and my car is SIX YEARS NEWER. I think your "friend" is trying to take advantage of your automotive ignorance (no offense). Oh yeah, post some pics in here so we can see the ricebucket. If he's the strong-personalitied type and won't take anything less, trust me, just walk away or you'll regret it in a year or so when the thing starts falling apart.

Re: 94 civic for 7000$ is it worth it? need OPINIONS!

ok I agree with it not being worth 7k but i have no idea how to swap an engine and all the other things hes done to his. i can put on a body kit thats About It. is it easy to swap an engine? and if I buy a different car i would like most of my mods to be done by summer, but im not very good at working on cars so i dont want my car siting in my garage half the summer while i figure out how to hook up the new engine! lol. thx for your edvice i dont think ill get it if he dont sell it to me for under 6k. and if i dont buy it i want a HB! with a B18C1! if i figure out how to swap an engine. ps. how much would it cost to have a shop swap it for me?

You probably won't be able to install an engine yourself, efficiently, without all the tools needed. It's pretty direct but if you run into a problem you'll be in trouble because you don't have the experience to know what's wrong. A shop will install an engine for $900 - $1200+ depending on parts needed and extra labor involved. Anyways, a purple Civic with a white/purple interior and altezzas doesn't sound like a great buy no matter how much u pay.. just my opinion, but just like assholes everybody's got one.

Re: 94 civic for 7000$ is it worth it? need OPINIONS!

thanks for all your opinions. with his car i would get more for my money sense i dont know as much as he does and cant do many things to a car. it would cost more than 7k to have a shop do all the stuff hes done, and order all the parts i need. ill try and talk him down to $6000. ps. "a purple Civic with a white/purple interior and altezzas doesn't sound like a great buy no matter how much u pay.." well you would have to see it to understand. its not a girly purple lol.

92-95, pppfffftttt, ugly. There are too many of them. Seems like everybody has at least 2-3 92-95 hatchs in their back yard. Lol, j/k.

Good luck.
