Engine dies, but will restart--need help?
The engine dies completely, but will restart immediately and run for
a few miles then dies. Makes no differents at what speed or at a stop light. I changed the DME relay which made no differents. I've been told it could be the DME control unit--- could some one whos had a similar experience let me know what they did to correct. Thanks |

ECU Unit or DME
I had the same problem with mine. It would just die on me and then I would have to tap on the ECU Unit(DME) in order to get it started.. Sounds to me like its your computer. I bought one for $100.00 used from Part Werks

It could be a number of other things as well, start by replacing your fuel filters, because it's cheap, and you should do it anyways

Re: Engine dies, but will restart--need help?
Ya, deffinetly replace fuel filters. Like Cbass said its cheap and easy and probably needs to be done. Another thing you could do is hook up a air/fuel ratio guage. And moniter your air fuel ratio. If its low you probably have a clogged filter or possibly a dieing fuel pump.
But it could be the computer unit. Try the cheap and then spend the $$ to fix it ![]() Good luck |
