Won't crank

Pattern of quick stops, turning engine off, then wouldn't turnover yet lights on dash come on -
1st time it happened restarted after 12 hours - mechanic changed battery cables anyway
2nd time it happened was on the way to catch a plane #@#^$%##. After it was towed, it started at the shop. Mechanic replaced battery.
Told my husband I didn't think that was the problem, that there seemed to be a relationship between quick stops. Told him to let it idle for a few minutes before shutting down. Sure enough, the first time he forgets to do that it won't restart. Only this time it has been days and won't restart. Local mechanic and Jeep dealership says could be alot of things. We're trying to decide if we tow it to the dealership this time and risk higher charges. thanks

I have the same problem with the same type of vehicle...I have replaced Fuel filters, pumps, batteries, cables, and so much more... after reading all of the complaints on line this week, I asked my mechanic to replace the Crank Shaft Position sensor. According to all of the comments that I have read, I am taking a best guess. I'll keep you updated. Good luck.

AFter numerous attempts to get jeep to breakdown on mechanic's lot gave up & changed starter based on info on this site and needing to put the vehicle back in service. Been about 2-3 weeks now and all has been well. (Guess I'm doomed now!!).
