My 95 gs-t wont start. please help
hey everybody, i just got a 1995 mitsu eclipse gs-t. got a prob though. it wont start. when i try to start it all it dose each time you turn the key is go "click". not a rapped clicking but just click. thought it was the battery so i got a new one a few hours ago. still dose the same thing. i tryed having a friend pull start the car. put the car in 2nd, got up to good speed and let out the clutch but all the cars wheels did was lock and the car was dragged. i need help and advice from all you people out there that have had this prob or might know what is going on with my car. any advice, tips, anything would be very much apreciated. thanks everybody.

There is a square plug in the drivers side fender splash shield. Pop it out. You'll see a 1/2" square in the center bolt of the cank pulley. Use a 12" long half inch extension with a breaker bar or ratchet to make sure the motr will turn. Remove all 4 plugs to make it easier to turn. If it wontmove, the problem isnt that the car doesnt want to start, but that the motor is siezed. Its pretty rare, But its such a simple test, and its odd that you got the same results after changing the battery ;o) Unless that one was dead too, lol

how could the car have siezed if it was just sitting. the person i got the car from was at work and when he tryed to start it, it would not start. he was thinking it was a blown rod or something. but from what i have heard, rods only break when the cas i being driven.

Its not uncommon to blow a rod while driving the car, and then after you shut it off it locks up. Did he think he blew the rod last time he was driving, or did he say it blew a rod while it was sitting still? If its the latter, he's a tool. Disown him imediately.
There are dozens of things that will prevent a car from starting. Even though this is how you titled the thread, this is not what your problem is. Your problem is the motor wont even turn over. The only thing that will cause that is a seized motor, or not enough juice to the starter. IF you'd rather track down electrical issues get off the internet, and go measure the voltage of the battery, and check/replace all cables and connections.

If the motor will turn over by hand, it could just be that your starter is bad.
