Silverado factory Alarm

I purchase a chevy silverado 2000 from a private dealer and noticed a nipple on the dash of the truck. Currently I am not sure if the truck has a factory alarm in it, I am still investigating. Can anyone tell me how I would go about to get the key chain remote from the manufacture.

Hi,

First off, the "nipple" you state you see on the dash is only is for astetic purposes only! In other words you should keep your lips off it!

Seriously, the "nipple" is a light sensor for the automatic headlamp system. Does your truck have power door locks? What options do you have?

Thanks for the reply. No power locks truck consist of the the following options silverado 1500 ext cab 4x4, 4.8 L V8 auto, air, tilt, cruise, 3rd door.

Yep, that's lights only. If you have an alarm, you'd see it light up on the dash after you lock all the doors and then shut them. But, do not worry, I know you do not have one because you stated that you do not have power locks. You do however, have a ignition kill system so only special keys can be programed.
