Question which 1??

im planning on getting a firebird soon (98-02), but im not sure about what to look for when it comes to LS1 and WS6 . which 1 is better in terms of performance? Another thing im not sure about is if i should look for a 5spd manual or 6spd manual. again, im not sure which is better in terms of performance and everything else. one thing i know is that the 6spd has the Skip Shift feature and i heard a lot about how annoying it can be so as of now...im leaning towards the 5spd but i really would like 2 know the advantages of the better 1 over the other and anything else anybody can add about anything else. thanks

Re: which 1??

Well, if you want a 5 speed, then you need to look for a V6 powered car, and that's not gonna be an LS1 V8. If you want a V6, that's fine, but if you want a V8, it's either an A4 or an M6.

If you're trying to decided between a WS6 and something else, say a Z28, both of them have LS1's in them. Both of them will perform very well, though the WS6 will have some suspension advantages over a Z28. Their 1/4 mile times will be the same though. The skip-shift is nothing to worry about, and if it is, you can buy a skip-shift eliminator for almost nothing. What are you comparing the WS6 to?

If you are looking to drag, I would go with an Auto. it is gonna win over the 6 speed in the longrun.
