1997 Cav theftlock
My Delco radio in my Cavalier is locked and I can't remember my code. It now says INOP which means I have to let it run for an hour then I have three more tries to get my code. Does anyone have a way to get past that?

Re: 1997 Cav theftlock
yea, i just recently had the same problem. take it to a GM dealership and tell em your situation. they put a code into the cd player and that gave them a code, then they called a number and gave them the code displayed on the cd player and that gave them another code which they put into the cd player and unlocked it. seems like an extended process but took less than 5 min.

Quote:
1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until 3 digits are displayed. Write down the numbers. 2. Press AM/FM button until 3 other digits are displayed and write them down. 3. Call 1-800-537-5140, when asked enter 139010, press * and then enter the six digit code you got from your radio, you will get an unlock code, write it down. 4. Press the MIN button until the last 2 digits agree with the code given to you, press the HR button until the first 1 or 2 digits agree with the code, press AM/FM button, SEC should be displayed. Turn radio on. If you bring your car to the dealer to unlock it....this is the same way they do it....and they want to charge you anywhere from $20-$40!!! |
