When I painted my old truck, I just used whatever the local auto parts store used, no fancy brand. But I did just repaint it the factory color. And you can get good results yourself, not show-piece quality but good enough, if you take the time to do it right. Also be sure to prep the surface correctly, and use hardener in the paint so if you get a run, it can be sanded off almost immediately. And as a side note, plastic parts require a special kind of paint, or some additive.

Black is one of the worst colors to paint. It shows blemishes too well. My dad does Autobody since he was 15 and he refuses to paint black. I would go with Sikkens or UTEC.

If you want REAL nice paint (& expensive), you have 3 options..

-Sikkens
-DuPont
-PPG (DELTRON [I believe])

If you want nice paint that isn't guaranteed, and also cheaper go with nason (by DuPont) any other paint is CRAP, PERIOD!
