Turbo trouble
Hi. I just bought an 89 Daytona turbo CS. It runs and idles very nicely though. When I floor it the turbo makes a big wooshing noise when under boost. Is this normal? The car drives fine under part throttle conditions, but under full load it makes a lot of noise but doesn't accelerate quickly at all. I am new to turbo’s so I don’t know want the problem is. Thanks

i would check your turbo pressure hose. on 2.2 or 2.5 sohc it is going from turbo to the throttle body. check both ends of hose and also check relief (blowoff) valve hose. it tees off of turbo press hose and is about 3/4 inch in diam. if any clamps are loose it will leak and make a loud whoosh sound. i have a 89 acclaim turbo it happend on.
