Hi there I just bought my Girlfriend a Mk3 and The sound system in it is "less than desireable" (sp?). thing is is that she doesn't want to have the new speakers to "intude on the interior" (her words not mine)
So I was wondering if anyone knew the dimentions of the speaker housings in the MK3's so I can just replace the speakers using the standard golf housings?Sharky |

go to crutchfield.com and they can get u the dimentions and some ideas as to what fits! u simply want to replace what u have stick with what they say fits i have an mk4 and i went with a component system from rockfordfosgate not purchased through crutchfield) and the tweeters suck they blew within 1 week and i didnt upgrade the amp or anything this was bone stock just replacing what was there. my friend even warned me but they were mad cheep for a brand new pair; so i got fucked on the tweeters but the mid/subwoofer is nice!!!! u cant tell i put new speakers in except that the highs sound worse than they did before !! if u have the money to buy ur gurl a car and now ur lookin to make it better look into infinity or mbquartz (no sony,or rockford ) if u need tweeters (sony look cool but they suck and ur not going to see them keeping a stock look anyway) and go with a component system if ur tweeters are separate from ur mid/sub!! see what the local car audio
shop says aswell u might want them to install the speakers if they come with crossovers !!!!! well good luck!!!!!! |
