MOdern EFI Swap to 1st GEN

I am looking for information on modern 5.0 swaps to 1st generation mustangs. My plan(thats all it is at this point) is a 1st gen mustang made for daily driving. I know what about needs to be modified(suspension, fuel system, etc.) but im looking for more information...possibly an internet site or a book outlining most of the options. Im also planning on a 5speed manual transmission. Such as a tremec TKO or something of that nature. Im thinking ill need a donor car to get the parts. IM just kindda looking for a more extensive information so i can work details into a financial plan of action. Thanks to anyone who can help.
one more thing, ive heard that a manual in 1st generations has a further then normal reach for certain shifts, does anyone have information on this, and what can be done to help it.

ps. im nto interested in why i should keep a stock three speed 289.....the lectures have already happened

There are a lot of sites about this just do a google search. Also if your swapping in a 302 and not doing much engine work don't waste your money on a TKO.

theres defiantely stuff out there for it, one thing you might want to think about is if you want to use a modern 5.0 or get an old 302 or 302 crate motor and inject it, as far as fitting it into the car my guess would that would be the easiest way, im not sure how easy a new five oh connects.

Okay, ive done the search on a couple of sites.....i was kindda hoping for better then just the occasional made up site where the guy did it with glue and says it runs 8's. I plan on going with a newer 5.0 motor, crate is a possibility. And since i am putting it in something new, i plan on building something up. the 5 speed wasnt picked out, i said tremec cause it was said soemplace else, im sure there is a tranny that would better suit my daily driven yet wanting performance needs.

Why would a four speed be better suited when 82-93 mustangs had 5.....wouldnt the 5th gear be better for highway driving?!?!?!

A 4speed would not be better.

Your going to have to pay some big shipping fees, since the biggest items you can get are 70lbs using USPS.

I have to have my parts shipped to a buddies house, who breaks them down for me, and ships them out using USPS. Just an idea for ya.

Which 4 speed? Either the drive ratio is the same.

With the final ratio of a 1:1 from a 4 speed, the 5 speed would be better.

i was talking about the top-loader... some of them came with a 1:1, but others (like the older UPS trucks for example) came with a 0.79, or a 0.78 4th gear ratio
