D16z6 head on Del Sol 1.5 block

I'm planning on using a spare d16z6 head on a del sol with a 1.5 block.
I have not found any real reference on this hybrid, I know the manifolds bolt up, but does the stock distributor bolt on to the head ? For fuel management and vtec I'm just going to send the ECU to Zdyne for a retune. Is there anything else I should think about doing different before try out the swap ?

You might email Larry at Endyn. That guy is a wealth of imformation about honda's and engine design in general.

I'm currently doin' a similar "swap" on my 1.5L Civic DX block. I have a D16z6 head with which I plan to bolt onto my 1.5 block. From what I can gather from friends who've done this head swap before is that all you need to complete this is the EX (d16z6) timing belt because the 1.5L belt won't work. The stock distributor from the 1.5 should work with the 1.6. Also, you'll need a new head gasket in order to complete this. As for vtec, the best way to get this to work is if you find yourself an EX ecu and connect the wires from the vtec solinoid from the d16z6 head to the ecu. Besides all this, everything else is pretty much bolt in.

...
So far, i'm having problems of my own. Getting out the pulley has become a thorn on my side. It would seem that I will need to find myself an air compressor and air gun to remove the bolt.

Re: D16z6 head on Del Sol 1.5 block

Air gun works well, but you could also have someone hold the pulley with a strap wrench, (mine is chain style, so you have to put a cloth between the wrench strap and pulley), and you use a breaker bar to loosen the bolt. Be careful not to lose the key(very small piece of metal) when you take the pulley off.
