Hey I have a stock 98 Jeep Cherokee Sport and I want to put the largest tire possible on a 16" rim that won't like cause trouble turning...etc. Now I read on numerous websites that you can put a 30" tire on a stock Jeep Cherokee. The tires I was planning on putting on are the 255/70R16 which is 30.1". I guess my question is can I put this tire on my car even though it is .1 off from what websites say or should I just play it safe and just use the 245/70R16 which is 29.6"??
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME ANSWER THIS QUESTION!!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME!!! RESPONSES GREATLY APPRECIATED |

Re: LARGEST TIRE FOR STOCK 98 Cherokee with 16x7 RIMS
Whoa nelly! You're gonna need to actually do some kind of test fitting if you can. We just put 31x10.5's on my girls '92 and there was about a half inch clearance from the bottom rear of the fender-well. (metal part) Just going down the road at all caused contact.
We subsequently trimmed the snot outa the rear wells.. Front has no issues at all.. |

Do either of you realize that the original thread post was 4 years old? Come on now citizen I thought better of you. And Jesse welcome to AF please check the date of the most recent post before posting a message. And as for what you're running they won't fit in factory height either you put on a small lift a while back or the previous owners put in a small lift but at stock height 31x10.50x15 tires would come in contact with the fender flares and the "frame" when turning more than just a tight turn. I have 31's on mine and it's lifted 4 in the back 2 in the front and they still rub when at full turn.
