Question Swap: B18c5 or H22a?

Sup guys...hey I was looking to do a swap on my '99 civic ex...I dont know much about doing swaps though. Can I do it if I have automatic transmission? What kind of engine do u guys suggest? I was looking at the B18c5...thats the JDM Integra Type-R right? It has a HUGE price tag....What would be better to put into my car? I dont know if it would be better to put the B18c or the H22a....1.8L vs 2.2L ? is it worth the money? What about the space? The H22 is real big and I heard I wont have Power Steering or A/C Or should I just go with a gsr?...I want something with LOTS of power thats y i was looking at the B18c....also r the swaps very difficult? What are the parts I would need to replace?! What are ALL the necessary Parts? Thanks

I would not get a h22...it's not that it weights a whole lot more, it's the way it sits in the engine bay....causes massive understeer and a crappy weight distribution...the car won't corner well and is not well suited for much but freeway driving and drag racing....I would get a b18c1 if I had the money

b18c5 usually run 5300 + shipping and h22a usually is 3500+ shipping
The drawback of the h22a is that it is heavier as stated by someone else, so you need a better suspension.

Then the h22a for your year has an imobolizer, which means that you need the keys and the imobolizer unit with it. This is really rare to find or you can get a 96 h22a computer.

I say go for the b18c5..its only drawback is the high price.

i didn't get a type R spec one, too much coin for me, i've brought a b18c1 for about $3300nz so about $1352.67US that included motor (complete) gearbox, computer, wiring loom and other little bits

i'm going to install it into my 1996 civic sedan

H22 will not pass DEQ

The h22 engine is tto big for a civic. It will fit but it will not pass DEQ. At least not in Oregon. There was only one case I have herd of it passing and that is because they had a friend in DEQ.
