H22A motot or B18C5 motor for 99 Civic SI

What motor would be best for the 1999 Honda Civic Si??? A B18C5 or a H22A, I read that the H22A would be quicker and everything, but arent they heaver then the B18C5, so wouldnt that make the B18C5 quicker in the long run??? Please help me and give me some suggestions...

What's wrong with your SI engine? I love those things.

The H22 is fast but don't plan on taking turns with it. Personally, the B18C5 is my engine of choice. I'm gonna cast in my vote to go with that.

wth. don't waste your money on getting a bigger motor......if you wanna go drag racing, a stroked b16 will do fine. dont' believe me? ask sav leone/9.28 @ 156 or a lot of other quick class racers....ohyea, and chris rado had a stroked b16 in his integ when he ran his first 8......

AGREED with above...Don't switch that motor up. I've got a close friend who runs 11s consitantly with his SI motor. Especially if you plan on going turbo, the itr engine isn't the best choice, and the H22A, like other have pointed out will make you very front heavy. I vote to keep your SI motor, hard to beat that, 'specially since you already have it.

The money that you are going to spend on doing a swap can go towards building your existing motor. You will be able to make more than enough power with that motor. If you really are wanting bigger displacement, I suggest getting a GSR block to use with your existing head. And if you still feel the motor is too small, you can always get a Crower stroker kit.

Jun is too expensive....and as far as the b20/vtec, it actually would be cheaper to go with the GSR block. Everyone is doing ls/vtec and b20/vtec conversions so it is becoming a lot easier to find vtec blocks. You also can spend the bucks and buy a Dart racing block for 2100 bucks.

true.......but the folks at JUN are super nice......but i know their shit is waaay expensive......they're US shop is a few minutes from my house....we went there to check it out and they were pretty damn nice to us.....it was unexpected......i doubt any other place like that would let a bunch of teenagers roam around in their showroom and shit......and they showed us their new all motor drag racing coupe......and we got fre stickers and water bottles....... ......sorry for off topic......anyways.....are you sure a gsr block is cheaper than a b20 because b20's cost wut.......800 bucks for complete swap whilst a gsr costs 3300.......i know it's getting more and more popular......but i think it'd be still cheaper for a b20 block......i'm not positive and i'm not saying you're wrong.....just wat i think.....
