Question 4th Gen do you find the low beams are super dim?

I've noticed with my 1990 Accord my low beams seriously suck. I'm in the process of upgrading to some Xenon blue bulbs but does anyone else with 4th Generation cars experience this? Driving with highbeams seems like the way it should be normally.

Also does anybody know a possible reson for why my highbeams sometimes won't stay on? sometimes when I pull the clicker thing back it clicks and stays other times it just snaps right back. I know it's passing the point where it should lock and stay on but it doesn't. I'm guessing I may just need a newer connection hooked up. Any ideas appreciated.:frog:

Re: 4th Gen do you find the low beams are super dim?

it sounds like you need a new switch for you headlights.
you may have to replace the entire steering wheel column, pretty much just the area where the switches are.
Hopefully, it's a small problem and can be fixed easily.
Have you had anyone look at them before?

How dim are you lights, you might have blown a fuse.
I remember when I blew one of my fuse and one of my headlights was dim. When I fixed the fuse, the lights were back to normal again.

yes they are...

on my 95, the switch on the steering comlumn was very easy to replace and only $27 at a junkyard. I would assume all things Honda being equal, it may be just as easy. or at least I would think so.

I know what you mean... my 90 accord's lights seem really weak. They look yellowish , which makes my clear corners with super white lights look funny. BTW , does anyone have Matrix headlights? I was thinking about getting their Ultra White's , but I didnt know if they were any good.

You should change your bulbs like every 2 years because they dim with age. Just like any bulb would. Don't get those blue xenon bulbs cause they aren't good in the rain.

Nah don't get those Matrix. PIAA or the Optiblue ones are pretty good

i had the same prob so i hooker up fog lights to a switch on the dash they just are adjusted to fill in where they stock units are dim and create dark spots on the road in cali the high beams can have drinin lights but not on the low beam set up or you'll find your self in trouble with johnny law
it was really easy the hardest part was routing the wires and deciding where to put the switch(since you need to drill a hole)
