Me b16a coupe vs Homie Ls Del Sol

ok everyone check this out i have a 1993 dx coupe with jdm b16a with cold air intake and full catback exhuast running a p28 ecu redlines at 7500 rpms not the right ecu my homie has a 94 del sol with a 96 ls motor with intake/header/exhuast/vafc/camgears tuned on the dyno ok we take off with a flagger i jump him by bout half a car end of 1st we stay the same by end of 2nd gear hes half a car on me by end of 3rd hes 1 car maybe a little more on me then we shut it down i just want to know your opinions thanks....

get the right ecu and do it again bet being able to take the b16 to redline will make a diff. do a lil more tuneing you should be able to take him it sounds like.

rite now i have intake/header/exhuast/camgears but still not the right ecu... im going to wait to get that then i'll run him again i also ran a 2003 spec v with intake and header and he got me by the same... 1 car maybe a little more... also was when i only had intake/exhuast

Uhm...how does he have a V-AFC if he has an LS non-VTEC motor?

he was planning on going Ls-Vtec but now he's not but it was put on and he car was dyno tuned and everything but the vtec wire isnt connected but it was all tuned...

It sounds like your b16 is need of a good tuning session, and a good aftermarket ECU tune.

Although he has the bottom-end pull on you, you should at least be able to even it out up top.

he had i/h/e/catty/vafc/camgears DYNO TUNED

I had i/e and a single cam vtec ecu.....

and you still say i should have even'ed it out at the top end? how man

ls gearing and torque curve makes it so it pulls pretty nicely in 1st and 2nd, but the top-end of a b16 SHOULD pull past him (considering the similar mod's) at the end of 2nd, into 3rd.

all this would be AFTER tuning it correctly, and getting the correct ecu as carnutttt and weed already pointed out.

now, i don't know the condition of both motors, but that's how it SHOULD work out w/ even drivers.

i have a 94 del sol with a b18c5 it is pretty quick i smoked a z28 with i/h/e off the line i think with the right tunning though you can smoke a ls del sol especially if your a good driver
