Engine swap infor needed please

For my 88 CRX Si i plan to do a engine swap next summer and i was wondering what would be the best engine i planed to do a b16a1 engine swap but then a buddy of mine sais he has a 1.8 liter dual cam vtec engine and a 2.2 liter dual cam non vtec and he is selling them cheap both are engine trany and ecu and im thinking maby i should swap in the 1.8 but i dunno if it is cable trany or hydrolic and if it is a hydrolic trany will i still be able to put it in there because my crx is a cable trany also does anyone have any idea what the engine code would be for the 1.8?
o and in a while after i do the engine swap i plan to go turbo

i would go with a b16a1 or the 1.8, wich should be a b18c1 or b18c5 if it is vtech, and if i am not mistaken it is a hydro tranny, but i think you might be able to swap a cable tranny onto it, i am not sure so dont quote me on this

its most likely a b18c *gsr* and you can use cable tranny or hydro they make mount kits for both just hydro would be a tad bit more complicated

and do you mean 2.3L non vtec?

Re: Engine swap infor needed please

HAsport has the kit that will allow you to use the hydro tranny.. Thats what I would do, newer hydro tranny are less likley to grind like ALL the old cable ones do.
