Question Fuse box Swap

I thinking about swapping my old fuse box with another used fuse box from a e28 535is. (To many blown fuses lately) I have a 1987 e28 528e. Is this an even swap or do I need to do more to get this done? Can I use the wire harness from the 535is for this swap? I heard some where that fuse box from a 635 can be used in a 528e. Logically can I assume 635 and 535 used the same fuse box and wire harness. Please help if you know. Thanks.

Fuse box

I had a problem where part of my fuse box (84 533i) started to melt - I purchased a used one and had my mechanic rewire it in. I also heard that you can install a newer type fuse box in the E-28 with the more modern fuses - but cannot confirm this rumour or have not heard anyone use an updated box. Still have problem occassionally with loose fuses and corrosion.
