Pinstripe removal
what is the best way to remove pinstripe? On one side of my car it looks as if it would just peel off with a razor blade, however on the other side, it looks like someone peeled off the top layer of it, but a thin layer is left stuck to the car, which I can't get underneath to scrape off.
it almost looks like it is part of the paint. Any suggestions on how to remove this? |

Re: Pinstripe removal
Dont use a razor blade. Heat with heat gun or blow dryer then remove. Use adhesive remover for any remaining glue. Followed by polish/wax or sealer.
The paint WILL be a different color where the pinstripe was. There is nothing you can do beside repaint the car if you want it to match perfectly. |

Re: Pinstripe removal
There are also heated "razor blades", I wouldn't use that on anything besides glass. Why not just use glass cleaner & razor blade for glass(sticker removal)? Works fine for me, but your dealing with the paint.

Xylene
Use a hairdryer to heat and pull off the bulk of the stripe, then use a chemican called Xylene to remove the yukky goo. It won't harm your paint and can be found in the paint section of any hardware store. Works like a charm!
