Which Intake is worth getting???

I am thinking of getting the AEM V2 CAI for my 97 accord. If anyone know of a reason why i should not get this one or if you know one that is better please tell me, because i dont want to buy something and then find out that i could have done better.

Good Intake

That is a great intake but you should also consider the fact that you can get a decent one on ebay for way less and it will perform just as well. I know these no name brands and stuff aren't as high quality but the one I bought works fine. I would explore all you options first and see if you can't make off with a better deal even if it's not an AEM one. Unless of course you have the money for all the name brands. They are cooler but I know I can't afford them.

Re: Good Intake

AEM intakes are a waste of money. Intakes dont really matter unless your engine is a full-out race engine. Does 1-2 CFM really matter? Like your gonna feel a difference between stock, AEM, or ebay junk. Just because it makes more noise doesn't always mean your car is faster.

The only reason to buy the more expensive brands like AEM or Iceman is because your state requires a CARB sticker for this item. Without the sticker you WILL NOT pass an emmisions test - you could always switch to stock, but thats a waste of time.

IMO the air filter on the end matters more than the stupid brand of intake.

Why would one waste so much money on the V2? waste.

Unless you are planning on just sticking to i/h/e, they don't waste your money at all.....

Also, I've had the AEM short, and cold intake....and I've also had the DC sports and also had the generics on eBay......the generics on eBay if you find a descent seller are the exact same thing, same length...same everything. The filter sometimes could use a bit of help (a larger one), but other than that....AEM = very good marketing department, that's about it. They do have great products, but as for $200 for an intake? *bah*

*edit* only buy the AEM/Injen/DC/etc if you need a carb sticker *end edit*

Ebay & expensive name brand are NOT the exact same thing. 1 is a copy from other products with no R&D, also the cheapie will NOT be CARB approved. Anybody can copy anything with the right equipment(like APC & other junk ass parts)
APC=American Products Company - where is it made? Fucking Taiwan. That's reason engough for me not to buy APC.
