I stand behind the the saying "you get what you pay for," but every once in a while there seems to be a few exceptions to this belief. For instance, why would a piece of anodized aluminum piping and air filter cost $175 versus another--a no-brand, but virtually identicle product--that sells on eBay for $45??? I think AEM slaps that $175 price tag on their cold air products simply b/c they've been awarded for greatest gains in horse power from stock intakes than any other product on the market. So? I mean, really, how much performance envelope can you push out of a frickin' aluminum piece of pipe and filter? How difficult is it to manufacture one of those? Little. I think any company can duplicate AEM's design but place their's at a much more reasonable cost (like the ones you see on eBay). I'm not a cheap person, but here's my question: Is AEM's intake really worth spending that extra $100+ over the hella cheaper eBay intakes, and why?

well aem is 50 state carb legal, the other cheaper ones on ebay are not so if you in a state like california and you get pulled over with that cheap ebay intake prepare yourself for a nice polution ticket. but if you dont live in a state that has smog laws then dont worry about what i just said
