performance chip

on the TMS webpage, wehn you go to order a performance chip, it asks for the ECU #, what is it, and where can i find it?

the number will be something like
0 941 700 027
or
0 941 700 014

Here is a link to answer the next question they will ask if the chip is soldered in or is removable.
