Shaking

I suppose I'm shaking because it's so cold in here right now, but I wouldn't necessarily rule out shaking because it feels like the world is kind of caving in on me tonight. For starters, I had a bit of an arguement so to speak with someone this afternoon, that left me in tears, and made me late to a meeting with a professor that was crucial that I attend. I know I haven't' been doing well in his class, and I haven't been for a variety of reasons. I went in tonight to discuss my grade and my plans for next semester as it pertains to the course. He asked me if I wanted my last test back. I told him no, knowing that I left two pages blank. I asked him for the first number of the score though. He replied with "There is only one number, 3". I think I might have started shaking then. He suggested that I petition for a withdrawal in the course, knowing that I will probably do just as poorly on the final next week. If I don't petition, I have no choice but to accept an "F"...and already, I'm facing the choice of a different major. Everything that I thought I was capable of doing is apparently not so. And everything I thought I was doing is just turning into shambles. If I petition for a withdrawal, I'm going to have to write a very compelling arguement and make my life open to intense scrutiny. If I don't, I face an "F", and my scholarships may be revoked. If I take an incomplete and spend the month of January studying for the final, then I place myself under an immense amount of pressure that I'm not sure I could handle.
It's funny how a smile can disappear so quickly and everything can turn so upside down. I don't know what else to do except to petition for a withdrawal and pray that they grant it. I just don't know...

Sometimes you just need someone there to hold you and tell you things will be alright. But that's not always possible.....

Sorry that you're feeling all alone in this. Life is hard as hell sometimes and you learn how to deal with them better each time. There are other things you could consider, like leaving school for a few months after the semester and regroup. While a scholorship is something nobody would want to sacrafice, you need to remember why you at college and its not to keep a scholorship, but to learn a trade and expand your horizons. You know what options you have within the context you've described so I hope you pick whats best for you and you can find the fortitude to see it through. Good luck and for what its worth you have the support of many (if not every) person here.

Hey babydoll. *hug* I may not know that situation off-hand, but I do know the fear of disappointment. I'm sure that something will present itself as the best solution. I hope that things turn out as best as possible for you, and we're all here for you no matter what.
