1/4 mi. times?

I'm too lazy to look up old articles, what were the 1/4 times for a stock 930 of the 70's & 80's vintages. I don't need each year's necessarily, just a rough range. Thanks.

Thanks Seb, I have always wanted one, but at this point I'm just entertaing the idea of buying one. They are almost affordable, but I can get a lot of other cool cars for the same price, so it's a hard choice at this point.

Get the 930 shit is great fun to drive that is if you are not going to be dragging that shit cause it's not made for that. It's made for street tracks and shit those 930 open up and pull all the way to max.

Yes, they have great torque, and great horsepower.

The problem with the 930 is it's extremely tailhappy, and thats where the majority of the weight is in the car. When it starts to get sideways, it really starts to get sideways

My lugnut requires more torque than your LS1 makes.

About the tailhappy, they are very tailhappy indeed.

I own a 1986 Turbo, and chrashed on the nurburgring, when the tail started sliding, there is no stopping it. Here is the result:

This was some 10 weeks ago, it's fixed now.

I think it's not the car thats tailhappy though, but it's up to the driver, it's just a car you need to be carefull with

The early 930's with the 260hp engine weighed in at around 1300kgs. They had a power to weight ratio roughly the same as the 231hp Carrera 3.2. Sadly the early 930's had a 4-spd transmission, meaning that the gear ratios weren't quite optimised. A quarter mile time in the high 13 second range would have been achieved. The later ones with 300hp and the 5-speed would have been in the mid 13's.

Smile 930

i have a 930 turbo.. Its a 1989 with 17k miles on it!!! This thing rocks! Havent spun out... Chances of throwing it off the road are low as long as you dont break hard while going around a curve... Your supposed to go into curves fast and accelerate out of them until your back on the straights... The 930 is made for cornering and handling... if you know what your doing... At some point id like to take some porsche driving classes

Re: 1/4 mi. times?

The rear end weight of the 930 is not a problem its a characteristic... The occurance of the spin out is very rare
