Friday Night, Illegal Drags, Hamilton NZ

Well We headed out around 9pm on Friday night, few cops on Te Rapa Straight, saw some wicked action from a RX-7 doing donuts in a car park then spitted before the cops came.

Few cards were parked that red lancer evo3 was on the prowl again for ppl to drag; it took on a Blue STi around 11pm, evo3 won by about a car length

Headed back towards the city around 11:30 an witnessed a fight in garden place, some dude in a vr4 was getting bottles thrown at his car (no idea why)

Someone had put diesel on the round about and this GTS-T was giving it shit, smoke everywhere, he saw blue and red lights so he split!

Back to the straight and....

Blue Integra Vtec Turbo Thingy VS Legacy RS... WHY to people turbo vtecs as last week against the evo3, vtec got nailed by 2 or so car lengths

Mazda GTX VS Supra RZ MK4. Supra Won, Mazda not far behind it

The Same Lancer Evo3 from the beginning of the evening VS Same Legacy RS, Close race, EVO 1/4 of a car length in front of the Subaru

its now about 1am and we though we would check out the city again (shame we took off as we missed a few good races apparently) Got back to the city and saw 3 ppl get thrown into a police bus (no idea why)

Back to the straight about 1:30.. the red lancer evo 3 was still prowling for drags.

Lancer EVO3 VS Some Red Integra... missed who won this but I’m guessing it was the Evo again.

Lancer Evo3 VS R32 GTR... We were still parked up. evo3 had pulled up to the lights, next to the Godzilla, both cars nana drove on green then the evo decided to floor it took about a car length for skyline to floor it as well (slow reaction) within seconds the skyline had 2.... then 3... car lengths on the evo... evos ass got sent home in the mail.

Same R32 VS Same RZ Supra (The one that raced the GTX) they decided to go from a rolling start (4WD In the GTR VS RWD) by the time the floored it, Surpa still had a bit of RW wheel spin in 2nd gear then got traction. The Godzilla took it, surprisingly not as much of a nailing as the evo (shrugs)

Celica GT4 vs Levin, no traction in first or second for the Levin left the Celica to get 2 car lengths in front of Levin

GTIR Pulsar VS Red STI Both been 4wd meant no rolling start, the pulsar took it 1 and 1/2 car lengths

well that was our fun gone, police came and told us to bugger off we just listened to them and went home (luckily the saw no drags), oh well I wont be out tonight (Saturday) the woman is making me go out clubbing with her but anyways more news of god knows what will happen next week, keep watching this forum

oh man i wish i can see such races here in the states. the only races we see are civics, integras, mustangs, and camaros mostly. anyways the GT-R is only AWD when its losing traction. so from a roll the GT-R is mostly RWD. the reason why the GT-R didnt' spin its tires was becasue the computer detected wheel spin int he back and sent some power to the front wheels so it tempararly went into AWD mode then when he bite, its went back to being a RWD car sending 100% of its power to its rear wheels. neat eh?

oh man,

the gt-4 beat the levin? which levin was that, because I beat gt-4 2-3 car lenght with my ae101 gt-z.

From Memory it was a 4afe (I Think) one of the crappy ones, the celica was turbo

I was out rolling for abit saw hardly any cops, saw that supra, only saw a red gtz levin around and I dont think he was racing, I was just nanering with a full gas tank, passengers and all the sounds...

btw a decent GT4 VS Levin the gt4 should win, aslong as they can drive
been 4wd off the line... rolling start I dono but my 20v kicks a gtz in a rolling

Maybe in a rolling straight(I'm talk bz-r becauce the others don't stand a chance) but a stand still drag or a street race with lots of short and deep corners the gt-z will smoke the 20v.

why do people turbo anything?
b/c it makes more power.

it's no different than putting a turbo on any car with any sort of "variable timing". like a, hmm....

ferrari, porsche, bmw, audi, mercedes... list goes on for cars that have that type of technology.

a turbo'd teg with the vtec equipped motor is either a gs-r or type r.

what's done to the evo that beat it? or the legacy? i'm sure the legacy was a turbo car stock.

sounds like a good time though... definitely jealous of the JDM flavor that's down there.

haha dont worry that teg isnt all that quick... it should be but its not been done right, the guy told a mate one night he's spent 40k onit but the Honda club informed me that hes an example "How not to turbo a vtec"

as for that gze thinggy back there... yea lotsa slowing/pulling a gze should be quicker depending were in the gears/revs the 20valve is, and I mean my facelift AE101 (silvertop) can pull away from them in a rolling above 50k's anything lower they will pull away till i get rev happy an catch up

Funny Thing I've seen other tegs without turbos beat it, most here in Hamilton and according to the word of other people he's actually made his car worse off

I'ts good here, we dont have the large cop problem that Auckland has (Friday before last was an exception) but we still have to keep aleart (radar detectors & police scanners)

is the turbo teg tuned right? is it running alot of boost, or a little?

are these other tegs that beat that car modded, with what?

you can't simply say that an NA teg beat X car, so the turbo car should.

at best he would be runing near or below a stock 1.6 vtec (its a 1.8), his ECU is runing in limp mode haha coz hes screwed up the link an shit... so the vtec isnt even really cutting in it hits fule cut around 6 or sumthen in limp, he said he was runing 12psi he seamed to talk some shit... said he spent 40k onit (20k us) pistons rods crank.. everything... yet drives around in limp mode, *dickhead* its more of a show car id say...
