testing starter and solenoid
ok, here is the deal, when i try to start the car, it just clicks once and thats it, i was wondering if anyone everhad this problem, and what was the deal? was it the starter or the solenoid?
how would i go about testing? also, where the hell is the starter located? and how do i get it off? thanx guys --audi

Mine is doing the same thing. I have to beat the starter with a hammer, then it turns on. The starter is located on the passenger side of the vehicle, it looks like a little canister, and below it is a bigger one, that's the actual starter motor, I think.
Does anyone know of any way to fix a starter in this condition without having to buy a new one? I don't really feel like spending $130 to fix something that's only half-broke. By the way, I have a 1990 model. |
