10 sec. eclipse
Would it be possible to take a '98 eclipse gsx and make it into the 10's on the 1/4 mile with no more, or even less, than $10,000?
If not, can someone please help me find a nice, pretty-lookin car, that I can get into the ten's. I went through so many of them, and I landed in the eclipse.

not for 10g' you can get a low 11's gsx for under 6g's but when gettin a car into the 10 sec barrier it becomes very unreilable and can give lots of problems and it takes alot of $ to do this.

yeah he is right dude, once you hit that 10 sec, your car will idel ruff andall sorts of probs, lol what i suggest is spend 6k get it into the 11s and boost a 150-200shot of nitrous Badabing! 10second car lol, kiss your internals good bye! lol unless its done right

oh btw skrew drag racing, work on your suspension lol you got the perfect platform for Autocross/Road Racing lol do that shyt dude, takeing left and right turns at high speeds seems better than going in a straight line, but if you want a drag car, look for a 86-87 Buick Grand National, they run the 1/4 in about 13.5-14s and you slam 10 grand and you got a 8 second ride street legal lol www.gnttype.org go there check it out yo this thing will pull a 6" wheelie with 650 hp lol and 700 tq

see here is the thing at this point where you guys are basically just guessing with what you already know. My neighbor has a supra, he bought it with about 110k miles on it already. He moded it nicley, and runs 9's. Now, last year alone he ran about 20k miles. Hrm...doesn't seem like he's having any problems, especially that he's at 135k miles. Now, this might be just 'cuz toyota makes much better cars (which is true), but, ah....whatever i gotta go....im in class right now...thanks anyway.

DUUUDE thats a supra!!! 6cly not 4 lol, he is capable of about double the power the eclipse is, and the fact that the gsx weighs nearly as much as a supra, the supra has way better tranny/motor/Everything thats the only reason he got it into the 9s with less than 10g's and very few probs, IF any! btw, tell him to convert it to Single Turbo if he already hasnt, it will run so much better, Remember Twin Turbo isnt always as good as Single,..

Heres an example. My buddy just put down 500 whp in a 1g, with about 10 grand spent including the cost of the car. He put down more than Leon did (490) and leon ran 10.9. But will my buddy run 10.9? Not for a year at least. The work in setting up the car, and learning to drive at that level take a bit of time. He may trap 130, but the ET is tough to find.

Anyway, is it a regular street car? Or did he take out the seats and carpet and shit? Also, how is the reliablilty?
