you'll need an evo 4/5/6/7 or 8 engine for it to be worth it. as they are the only 2l evo engines that will fit without minor mods, and a HUGE bank account too.

hehe your in alot of trouble if you plan to convert a 5th generation mirage into an evo...especially with a 4g63t off an eclipse the motors on the 4g63t eclipse run 180 degrees the other way of the 5th gen mirages.

i also noticed you said 96 mirage...are you sure you didn't mean 97? the 4th gen mirages which look like Evo1-3 ran from 1994-1996 and the 5th gens ran from 1997-2001 which look like the evo4-6TM.

anyway your evo conversion problems can be solved here.

www.mirageforums.net

but please do a search the people there have had close to 5 years of research on evo conversions for any year mirage so please search the site first they even have stickies in regards to the conversion because so many people keep asking about it...so a warning to please research first before you ask questions kus you will get your head bit off if you ask a common newbie question there.

Good Luck.

Yeah, the 5gen Mirage came out earlier overseas, but here in the states we didn't get it until 1997. And putting a 4G63t from an Eclipse isn't an option unless you want to do some cutting and welding. The engine mounts are different. The exhaust and intake are reversed, as well as the transmission. If you really want to do it, get the ENTIRE front clip, then find a competant mechanic and hand him/her a blank check.
