i have a 93 grand cherokee and im having a problem with my liftgate. when i disarm my alarm the remains in what seem to be in a lock position even using the key does not help. I wanted to know if anyone has had this problem and if tell me how to fix it.

More than likely your slider bar inside has broken or fell off. You'll have to get the door panel off and look inside. |

getting the panel off isnt gonna be easy due to the fact that there are about 4 screws that you cant get to when the liftgate is closed... those screws are located around the window... what i did was grab a pry bar and just snap the panel off the screws.. yes i know not the best thing to do but my liftgate works now and there was no other solution heh... also there are 2 screws in the panels carpet area that you might not see if you dont just feel around for the holes... once you get the panel off you should just have a insulation cover to rip off and you can get to everything to fix your issue... hope this helped

I would like to say thank you to every one that help me with this liftgate problem. This pass weekend after about an hour and a can of WD-40 and a few nice cute on my arm I finally got it open.
