I have a '79 280ZX and recently noticed a loss of power as well as extremely poor gas milage. I have checked all vaccuum lines and hoses and decided to clean the plugs and replace the cap and rotor. Well, after doing this, I drove the car and it drove great! Upon finishing-up my evening, I decided to take my garden hose and spray-off the engine with cool water. I took one last test drive after doing this and now when approaching 3,000rpms, the damn engine immediately cuts-out and even if I floor the throttle during this, still nothing happens. It's acts almost as if all of a sudden I had put it in neutral during drive. Is it possibe that I got something wet that would cause this? ANY HELPING FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

get yourself a bottle of compressed air and blow out all your electrical connections.. especially your distributer... you should never wash your engine with water inless you cover your distributer cap and all your electrical connections... so try to get out all the water from your connections try that first...
