Talking

HAHAHAHAHAHAH

A LS1 with a carburetor... omg... best thing ever. He told you it was a LS1? Since you saw the motor, was it all aluminum?

It look anything like this?

Actual Corvette motor with plastic covers

Or did it happen to look like this...

Just so you know, if it has a carburetor... like this

Then it is not an LS1 motor. He is straight bullshitting you.

Yeah, a carbureted LS1. It's either BS, or the guy actually changed from FI to a carb, in which case he's just stupid

Unless he fabricated his own intake manifold for the motor, it's impossible. No aftermarket company makes a intake manifold that accepts a carb for the LS1... it's utterly stupid to do that.

it had the plastioc covers like the third pic. look almost exactly like the second 1 but with a mesh carb filter, also he was saying it was a old corvette motor. n yes i apoligise for not knowing bout american muscle im a turbo guy if he had a t-88 or two under there then u would know what up. it was ither a LS1 or a LT1 or sumthing like that i appoligise again for not knowing about american cars, he also said he was running 10.5:1 compression on the motor and was spraying 175 shot of NOS. i think the compression is to hi to be sprayin nos and his internals are stock.. so i think its b.s. btw his block was red if that helps at all..

btw he said it was 5.7l

its not hard to swap a vette 350 into the monte since those are carbureted and doesn't have any computer hook ups really, it should be a simple swap. but the monte comes with a 350 as well. you must've misheard him by thinkin that any 5.7 liter would be a vette motor. plus i wouldn't call having 10.5:1 compression a stock internals. hes has to have atleast put pistons in there. hes probrably not telling you the whole truth.but a talon making 350 at all 4 wheels should get you in the low 12's. almost, but not quit enough to beat him if he is telling you the truth

You make me laugh. Maybe insert Throttle body inplace of carb. No such thing as an old LS1 unless you think 3-4 years is old. I think you are dealing with a late 80's Monte Carlo with a 305 TBI(therefore explaining the open element). Could aslo be some 350. MSD what? wires, igniton, coil, distributor, rotor cap, or just a sticker.

Instead of trying to figure out what you need to beat the Monte Carlo why don't you figure out what "WHAT" is.

How do you know anything about Turbos, without even knowing what a carb is. You kinda skipped the basics of motors. All american cars don't have carburetors I hope you know that much(GM last put carburetors on in 87 I believe).

I'm sorry to say it but people like this give importers a bad name. I guess the belief in big wings, 6" exhaust tips, and stickers will never die(adds 50hp).

damm that was harsh..
so im a RICER now because i dont know about carbs.. listen here sonny your still new here so ill give you a break but dont accuse me of not know thinngs untill you know me.

btw it is a late 80's monty with a 71 vette motor. a big v-8 not sure aobut how much cc. it is carb. not fuel injected.. this whole not knowing about carbs and not know anyhtin is unaccurate shit i wasnt born when carbs were out so how in hell can i know them if i never worked on them. i know that is where the air and fuel mix together.

carbs and turbo is apples and oranges. i said earlyer that i dont know much bout american cars that why i posted durffff. see its people like you who flame just b\c someone doesnt know much about one particular subject that make a\f a un pleasent place..

i bet if you that u dont now to much bout turbos ither..
so next time dont flame newbie
