horn problems

I have a 1997 c230 and the horns have started sounding very funny. The passenger side has apparently quit working and the driver side just kind of beeps. Three questions:

1. What could be wrong?
2. Where is the horn fuse?
3. How in the world do you get to the horns anyway?

Re: horn problems

You have a horn that is not working properly. It is a very common problem with 202 chassis. It is not a fuse problem since the horn still works. I memory serves me correctly ( haven't done a 202 horn in a while) You have to remove the lower engine cover and lower raidator cover (under the car) and they are at the far left and right bumper directly below the headlights. They are pretty far up and held in with a 13mm bolt. In some c-class i believe some horns maybe at the front of the radiator support on the small bracket in the center. But if you don't see them i have to believe they are below the headlights. Take the old horn to the dealership so they know which horn you need. One is a low tone and the other is a high tone.
