Exclamation B-16 swap to a 91 CRX hf HELP!!!!!!!

I'm helping my friend swap a b16 into his 91 crx hf. Everything is done except there is one problem. When we put the car into reverse, the check engine light comes on and the rpms drop about 600-700. I'm thinking it has to be something with the vtec wiring and what he replaced and put where. I'm wondering if anyone has done the swap into the hf model, because there is a slight difference between that and the si. In ECU position C8 in the hf model, there is a yellow wire. The instructions that came with the hasport harness don't mention there being a wire there, because its for the si swap. He cut that wire and replaced it with the second O2 sensor like it said. Maybe that was some wire having to do with the reverse gear? Obviously that wire did something important, so if someone could tell me what they did, that would be really great. Thanks

What hubs and knuckles did you use for the swap? Not that it matters in your case, but im about to do a swap here myself and would like some ideas on which ones people have used and where they got them.

Xtreme Illusions- had to grab knuckles off a 90 civic ex. because the hf knuckles dont fit the new axles. So with the bigger knuckle you have to have bigger rotors. should use bigger calipers too, but the old ones will work.

Import Fantasy - right now im going to school in catonsville. been down to a junkyard in pasadena a couple times, why? know someone?

is the car an auto? If not their is now reason for the rpm drop unless you throw out bearing is worn and it is draging the clutch"not disengaging all the way"

Re: B-16 swap to a 91 CRX hf HELP!!!!!!!

sorry to bring this thread back from no where, however i am having the same problem with my swap. When i put the car into reverse it dies before i even take my foot off the clutch. Does anyone have a specific link for HF specific swap with what needs to be done with wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: B-16 swap to a 91 CRX hf HELP!!!!!!!

that wire was for the EGR valve lift sensor. its originally a 3 wire sensor, the other two wires being reference voltage and a ground. heres my question for you, did you use the original HF engine harness, and just left the plug for the EGR valve lift sensor unplugged?

second question: the HF has a backup light switch and a clutch switch that is wired into the ECU. they are located on B9 and B11, respectively. do you have anything hooked up to either of those?
