1987 CRX HF engine swap!!! Please HELP

I have been looking all over online and i have found nowhere where it talks about people who have swapped a d16/b16a1 into a CRX HF carburated.

I know i need to wire in fuel injection but im relatively new to this and if there is anyone out there who knows about doing this or is good with wiring harnesses then please help

You need a conversion harness like one from Hasport.

Re: 1987 CRX HF engine swap!!! Please HELP

so do i even need to wire in fuel injection from an SI? Because the harness that i would need for the B16a1 swap says to swap from a 87 SI crx.

so all i need to do i just get the fuel injection wired in and then go from there?

Yeah get your car set up like the Si and as far as I know from there it's plug and play.

You can not use 87 civic si harness for a b18. You can use it for a d16a1. I would be easier to swap out the engine from an 86-89 integra into the crx with wiring harness and hubs and front brakes. just buy a integra for cheap cheap price and strip it down and put the engine in the crx. If you need for info on what to do check out redpepperracing.com or check out my gallery at the end of my message

Re: 1987 CRX HF engine swap!!! Please HELP

I just decided to go with the d16a1

It just too much of any investment for the b16

it would cost me about 3600 dollars

besides i can just buy a 91 crx si with the b16 in it with that kind of money

so alll i need to do with the d16a1 swap is:

86-87 SI
intake manifold
ECU
fuel lines
fuel pump
fuel tank
wiring harness
d16a1 engine from an 86-87 integra
suspension

right?

If you can find a 88-89 integra it would be best, it has electrical advance versus 86-87 that is vacumm advanced thisa is if you choose to chip the ECU or turbo it. Just us the same thing you said for the 86-87 and you will need the hub assembly with the axles and brake system. You can also convert the rear end to disc brakes also using the the teg's one. if you need any help with any of this let me know.

Re: 1987 CRX HF engine swap!!! Please HELP

well i just talked to a local junkyard and they have a complete 86 integra and they are willing to sell me everything i need for the swap for 800 dollars

and thats the only 86-89 integra engine in the area so i pretty much dont have a choice but to go with the 86

my main concern at the moment is the wiring harness...

i dont know how to wire my crx hf to support the CRX si wiring harness because the plugs and stuff are different

any help there?

Re: 1987 CRX HF engine swap!!! Please HELP

Ask the local junk yard if they will sell you the teg wiring harnes and just swap it out. This is the best and fastest way to do it. I wnet the hard way and used the 84 dx harness and added the 87 teg harness this is a bitch to do. and at the end of all of this i had to do i found out that i could of just swaped the harness, just remove the wiring for the headlight motors on the teg and your good to go.
