94 prizm problems, please read, please help
i have a 1994 geo prizm that is running rich and stumbles on acceleration. feels like a lack of fuel is getting to the engine. jets checked, plugs checked, filters checked, cat checked. doesn’t pick up at all, 2nd gear acceleration jumps, idles ruff, bluish black smoke from exhaust. all out of ideas, need some help.

check the compression of each cylinder and see if they are close to each other , sounds like you might have a burnt valve , also is the check engine light on?

Re: 94 prizm problems, please read, please help
I have that problem with my 95 prizm. If I don't warm up the car before I drive, it kinda hesitates in 2nd gear for a minute and then its fine. I have had the engine rebuilt twice. Once for piston rings, and the second for oil burning and a burnt valve. I am starting to give up.

Sounds like you may have bad piston rings and other internal parts. Have you checked your O2 sensor? If you are blowing bluish smoke, that means you are burning oil, and that is a bad sign! Go get a block test and compression test. It really sounds like you need an overhaul like mine did. Good luck. Let me know the followups.
