Recently I purchased a vehicle,(1995 GM), from a car dealer/dealership. The dealer is a personal friend of mine and cut me a great deal on the car. The dealership previously had sold the car to someone else, another dealer, but he no longer has any interest in the car, so I have a bill of sale of the dealership selling me the car signed and dated and a title thats in that other guys name but was sold to him from this car dealer. I also have an affidavit. From what I am told i simply need to fill out the afidavit and clarify that the person whos name the title is in now no longer has any interest in the vehicle and then get the form notarized and send it in for a new title. Can anyone please tell me what my options are here, what all i can do, what problems i may run into, basically anything to help me get this all taken care of and a title in my name so that I may license the vehicle and get it on the road. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks, Chris |

Sorry, but that story confuses me a bit. Why doesn't the dealership take care of the title transfer for you? They should have experts at that in their sales department since they deal with things like that all the time.

The car dealers father died recently, he was the dealer to sell the car the first time. His son is who just sold it to me. He is in the process of taking over the dealership i believe. They are not a big car dealership, just a little local one in the town.
