just installed rksport intake

I installed my rksport highflow intake for my 03 cavalier. Sounds great! Aboslutely fantastic. I expected a big difference in sound...but not that big. I dont really know what if any power I may have gained. It feels like it pulls a little harder, but who knows that could be my brain tricking me. I'll find out in a few weeks when I borrow my friends gtec pro. Quick question...I have heard it would help to disconect the battery for 24 hours. Reset computer I guess. Is there any validity to this statement. Thanks

It shouldn't take 24 hours to clear the computer. A good 10 minutes should clear it, but I don't think that's going to pick you up any power. I'd say once you're done modifying your engine, you should have a chip programmed for your car to get the maximum power out of it.

Another thing about the power...you aren't going to get your maximum effect from the intake without a higher flowing exhaust. I'd recommend having the exhaust cut off right behind the cat and then run new pipe into a muffler of your choice in back. That will help the engine breath a lot easier, and maximize your intake's preformance. HTH
