rksport intake problem

So I have the RKsport wai for my 2003 cavalier and I have just run into a problem. It turns out the tube comes very close to the positive terminal (side mount) of my battery. I had the intake in there for a good year before this problem started. I have a power line going from the battery thus the stock cap does not fit over the battery terminal. As you may have guessed this leads to an arching problem between the positive terminal and the intake tube…not good at all. So I tired the easy way and wrapped the tube in electrical tape. One month later, the arching problem came back because it had eaten through the tape. I have searched far and wide for a larger battery cap, or some form of rubber sheet to fashion my own. Nothing found yet. So now to the solution…anyone know where I can find an oversized battery cap? Has anyone run into this problem before? Would placing a ceramic washer between the support bolt and the engine block solve the problem? Is there another form of non conductive anything I can wrap around the problem section of the intake? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now onto my second quandary. I've noticed a new problem with my 03 cavalier. The stock intake is back in so don’t consider the arching problem. When taking off from a stop right after disengaging the clutch in first gear the car will bog down between 1200 and 2000 rpm, then normal power is restored. Right after shifting into 2nd it will bog down as soon as the clutch is all the way disengaged. This problem usually happens when pressing the gas pedal all the way to the floor after clutch disengage. It also happens regardless if the AC is on or off. Any thoughts?

thirdly...I have the extended warranty. I noticed a slight manual trans leak, looks like the axel seal. Took it to the dealer and they said its tranny seepage. I tell the guy, does it seep not turn into a leak in time...his response...we will keep an eye on it, you still have 28K left on the warranty...give me a break GM, way to make sure I ever buy GM again. Any one else have this issue?

Hmm I have the same car buttttt I went and spent 250 on my intake, so if it gives me any problems I might have to leave AEMs oil plug a little lose. Anyway I have really seen any larger battery cap, so you might try looking at diffrent batteries. Who knows, maybe one will be abe to fit with the cap it provides. Orrrr you could possibly go to a couple shops and see what they say, I mean it cant be that expensive to either make a cap of find another way aorund it. And for your 2nd question, that's happened to me once, pulling out of work one night, really scared me too, thought someone did something to my car. Anyway it went away and hasnt really botherd me since. And as for the seepage, try goin back to the dealer again. Ive noticed that you have to hit them on the right day. Sometimes they feel like doin work, and sometimes they dont. Thats why I always get someone I know at the dealer, so atleast I know they wont turn me down.

just to clear things up, that power line mentioned above is for my amp...so thats why the original cap does not fit over the positive terminal.
