Well...finally replaced the oem head unit for 1999 Accord 4dr EX 5 spd.
BUT...everything is working, except for the dash lights / back lights for AC. Dimmer switch is not working, and at night time, I now have an excuse for speeding... "I Swear I didnt know officer...look (points at dash with no lights...)" All the Warning lights / Check lights work, the clock light and mileage lights come on for daylight driving, but the entire dash light setup is out. I have looked for a "dimmer" fuse or a "dimmer" relay, but there's no such thing that I can find. I checked all the "interior light" and "instrument panel" fuses...and any other sort, even replaced them all...but still, the dash lights for nite driving will not come on. Any Ideas? Or take it to honda and get a new hole torn open...?

you probably blew a fuse when you installed the new deck. Im sure its just a wire that touched another one or metal. Not sure what fuse it is, but when you find it, replace it. If it blows again then you have wires touching behind the deck somewhere.

all I can say is either, you disconnected a ground point somewhere behind the dash, or accidentally cut a ground wire, or a fuse is gone. start checking your fuses, and it might be a good idea to get those "light up" fuses that light up when they burn out. I bought a few for my amp, so next time they blow I can just look at the bottom of my amp and know which ones have to be replaced.. instead of having to pull out every single fuse in your car, but for the dash I would geuss those fuses would be in the fusebox on the inside of the drivers door. As is in my 99 accord.

i know on some of those body style accords, if you use the illumination wire to light up a aftermarket deck it can mess up the lighting on the part with your mileage, it's some computer thing, about 400 dollars to fix, doesn't sound like your problem though, did you check both fuse panels inside on each side of dash??
