Question Tips for fabricating a bodykit?

I am in the process of a complete overhaul on a '87 CRXsi. currently I have the entire front end tore apart and I am ready for a body kit. My only problem is that there is only 1 kit made for the first generation (Mugen), I hate it. I really like the blitz kit and no matter what i have to do I will get one on my car. Brainstorm number 1 is to go ahead and order the complete kit for a '88-91 front, rear, and sides. I don't think that there will be much of a size difference because the body lines are actually very similar. My main worry is that the bumpers will either be too short or too long to go from fender to fender. though I have done alot of custom jobs in the past I have yet to tackle something like this. How would I shorten or extend the bumper from side to side? OR WILL I EVEN HAVE TO? Help me I need some advice!
