TDR is a great resource for any Cummins owner - it's worth every penny. I would try a chip (Edge Products, BD, Gale Banks, etc. many options out there), with an exhaust system, and an aFe Mega-Cannon intake (or something similar). A word of warning - if you have an automatic transmission, it will not hold up to any power add-ons. Build your tranny first. ATS, DTT, or Suncoast are all very capable of "fixing" the weak link. Just my .02

heres several links
the above products mentioned are great sites to visit.
here are some other forums and links that i go to often as i have a 98 CTD and plan on doing some mods to it. Diesel Truck Resource forum Diesel Ram forum if you want to quite your motor down PowerPuck chip Volant air intake Performance products from Jetchip.com And if you have an automatic transmission... somewhere though all these links you'll find what your interested in.. i have the automatic so its recommended to mod the transission first (at least the torque conveter as it is reported to be the weak link of the Dodge CTD) have fun

Re: power mods for Cummins 5.9L Diesel?
tstproducts.com, bankspower.com, dieselperformanceparts.com, to name a few but
an excellent source for any cummins diesel dodge owner is the turbodieselregister.com. Be carefull what you modify if the engine is still in warrantey because it will VOID your warrantey. I have installed the 4 inch exhaust system and supposedly it won't void, big gains in power and cool sounding exhaust. |

First you need a new chip, secondly you need performance injectors, and I wouldn't turn up the power without having an aluminum oil pan.
Don't forget that the combustion chamber is located in the pistons and those pistons are sprayed with oil to be cooled. So the more power you run the hotter you run. I spoke to somebody at a truck show and I bought one for my 1990 Pick-up. The Oil pan is pretty neat looking, it has some massive cooling fins that looks like something from an f-16. I will try to find his business card or something and get back to you guys. |
