Can't get a straight answer...

OK, I can't get a straight answer anywhere. Can anyone tell me if the pistons and rods from the D16A6 and D16Z6 are the same, as far as length and diameter? Are they interchangeable parts? Anyone know??

all pistons from d series 1.5 and 1.6 liter engines have the same bore and thus, are interchangeable. as far as the rods go, they are interchangeable between a6 and z6, but im not 100% sure if they are 100% alike.

Re: Can't get a straight answer...

Don't worry about that. You need forged pistons and rods anyway when you get that hp

I'm putting a Z6 with a turbo in my new crx, and it had an A6 block that blew on it. 3 of the Eagle rods that were in it are still good, as are 3 of the JE 10.5:1 pistons, (which are for sale, btw, since that will do me no good on a turbo setup...), and I was thinking about using the rods, and getting aftermarket pistons. However, I've looked at the costs of these pistons, and I just can't afford to do that, so I'm just going to go for low boost and build the bottom end later, when I get more $$. I know it would be easier to do it now, with the motor out, but I just don't have the dough. Thanks for the info, in any case. Now I'll know when I do build on the bottom end.
