Engine potential!???

As many of you know I have an automatic DX with a D15b2 engine. I was just wondering how much potential this engine has. I plan on turbo charging the engine. After I do the MPFI swap and use an auto EX ecu and tanny. I then plan on using forged performance Si internals. I think I can run stock boost with a fairly built bottom and head. Do you know or have you heard of anyone who has used a DX engine and got decent power out of it? I know there is someone, I just can't remember his name. Oh yea Frozen_Joth what did you say were going to do with your civic?

I could but I don't feel like it. I want to see what can be done with an automatic. I am going towards the show scene but I still want to have power when I need it.

Bisimoto, who I believe runs a 10.33 on a very built D15, or at least used too, can feed you full of information on that.

Lots of people will tell you to ditch the autobox, but truth is, you can make it fast. I beat many cars with my Auto 4G4D. I beat a Camry tonight, with a 3.0 litre engine.

Some might say that is still slow, but then, I need a daily driver, lots of traffic everyday, and the auto is great for relaxed driving. But when I need to put down power, I can. Auto is also great for turbo or NOS.

As for the engine, I had the D15B3 in my car, similar specs to the USA DX model, but carb'd and not DPFI. With some bolt-ons and tweaking, I managed to make her quite fast.

As for Bizi Eserioha, he used a D15 in his drag CRX, twin carb'd, with heightened compression and stronger internals. As far as I know, Bizi never changed the bore and stroke, keeping it a 1500 cc.

In ALL MOTOR category, he had the QUICKEST (acceleration) and FASTES (Top speed) all motor honda in the world. Out of a carb'd, SOHC 1500cc little motor.

If you want to spend the time and money, you can build a d15 to beat just about everything. For drag racing...

For everyday, just add bolt-ons and tune her some. The SOHC motors are not as bad as many think...
