92-95 DX engine potential????

i own a 93 DX non-vtec and i just want to know what i can do to the engine(this doesnt mean swapping it or something like that) to make it perform better and stronger. For example, could i use a bigger TB and if so, what should i go with? are there any little things i could do for 'free' to the engine to make it perform better? anything would be appreciated(except teling me to just swap it out, apparently i dont want to do that which is why i am asking about the stock engine. Please do not just say 'swap it for a better engine and make it vtec' thanks

The potential for the engine is tremendous for a person like Bisi Ezeroiha (I think that's how you spell it). A person with the skills, knowledge, and assets. For the average tuner or even the less than average like you, the potential is literally "pathetic". You could do the basic bolt-ons but even then, don't expect to be racing and winning. Just save and swap for anything better.

or he can always go the cheaper route and do a mini me swap. Which basically isn't a pocket breaker. You swap the head of a 5th gen EX and even more potential opens up for you. Turbo becomes an option too as long as your compression is right.

Go to www.homemadeturbo.com, it's a few 'mini-me' swaps on there with turbo's that are running 11's - 12's. Now this feat is not achieved easily but it's worth it if you don't want to swap your engine. that's the route i would basically go if you don't wnana spend alot of money! I just want to run 13's on my dx engine before i actually do drop in this gsr engine. Just go there and ask around, alot of tech help and people that can help you out.

Dx

New guy here

Okay My Dx motor was slow to. All I did was get a d16y8 tranny(ex model) The closer gearing really picked up this little motor. You could also get a cam from a 90-91 civic Si. Eveytime I beat other Dx or cx hatches they have no idea why. My motor looks compltly stock. Also try advanceing your time 2-3 deg. Hope that helps

First of all, if your car's on 18" rims you're taking away stock power. You could buy an intake, header, and exhaust for around $1100 and get like 10hp on your engine. Trust me, you'll never be happy with that engine on limited funds.

dx

The tranny and cam shouldn't cost more than 600 installed.
Much better than In/h/exh Would ever do.

I have this done to my hatch. No dx w/int/h and exh can hang.

Exactly what I was thinking, take off those wheels and you'll have a 50% increase
