I have a very similar problem. I just installed a reman. 350 engine into my pickup. All 8 cylinders have a compression between 120 and 125 (so that is good). The electrode ends of the spark plugs in cylinders #2, 4, 6, & 8 are all coated in liqiud oil (like they are dipped in oil); the the other four spark plugs look like the should. There is oil coming out of my tail pipe with a large content of fine metal bits in it (the oil is more silver than brown). I have about 20 minutes of run time on this engine, but I have used a case of oil already. Additionally, large clouds of mostly white smoke (very rarely blue) is coming out of the tail pipe when the engine is started and the amount of smoke is related to engine rpm's.
Any body have any ideas what is causing this??????
