What do you think I should do?
I have a '90 Civic DX with a fried clutch and messed up tranny (pops out of second gear). I have a $1500 budget, so what do you think I should do? I need something reliable to get me around until schools out.

LET IT BE KNOWN I AM IN NO WAY SAYING ANY ENGINE IS "BETTER" THAN ANY OTHER ENGINE! I AM MERLEY POSTING MY OPINION ON WHAT HE SHOULD DO WITH THE AMOUNT OF FUNDS AVAILABLE.
I think you should go with a Dual cam zc, or a single cam Vtec motor... OR if you can find someplace to swap in a B18A/B those can usualy be had fairley cheap as well... But seing as you need a new tranny as well your best bet is a single cam vtec package with trany/ecu... These can usualy be had for about $1200 SHIPED were as the B16A is going to cost you in the long run (Can usualy be done properly for around $2000-2600) Just to give you an idea... NOW LISTEN YOU MOTHER FUCKERS, THESE ARE THE PRICE RANGES AROUND WERE I LIVE AND I DONT GIVE A FUCK WHAT YOU CAN DO IN CANADA OR WERE EVER THE HELL YOU ARE SO DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT GIVING ME SHIAT! Everyone on this board knows what I'm gonna say so I'll say it anyway.  1st gen B16A. (prefferably with Y1 LSD tranny, if not I'll settle for an S1 or J1)

or you could go an even cheaper route. get an si tranny outta the junkyard....build a home made turbo set up. youll be aight on that. or better yet....get a tranny and a clutch n save the rest up for something bigger and eventually better.

I decided to fix my car for as cheap as possible, then sell it. I'm gonna try to buy a DSM. I'm sick of messing around with my slow civic, besides, you gotta love Turbo AWD.
