IWC Re Reputation

This reputation points things is crap, its only good for slandering people anonomously.

I believe the reputation points should be either a) removed or b) make it show who sent the points. Otherwise its just there for gutless wonders to slander people without knowing who it is.

I realise I am guilty of slandering people from time to time, but it is not anonomously.

Thank you.

I like it the way it is for now. As soon as you allow people to see who is leaving what then it’ll just open a host of flames.

If a user wants you to know who they are you can put in your name in the contents area.

Aside from that, you cannot leave repeated good or bad reputation points on a single person. It says you need to “spread it around” before doing so.

You may want to review how to put one of these IWC threads up here. You’re missing the disclaimer (though I don’t know how much stock Igor puts into that – even though he is the one to say do it)

So does this count as passed then? The poll indicates a change.

If there is any change, I think they should go completely.

Initially I thought it would make things more interesting, but I am starting to think otherwise now.

People seem to post negative reputation simply because they don't like you and the whole consciousness of the reputation makes me feel like I am treading on eggs the whole time as I feel like I have to worry about offending anyone.

Maybe making the points non-anonymous would make it less likely to pick up unnecessary negative reputation, but I don't think that will slow people down when it is so easy to set up muliple accounts here. (Think about it, I decide I don't like Yogs, but don't want him to give me negative reputation so I set up another user name and use that to attack him instead so he still won't know it was me).

I've gotten a few negative feedback sent to me, but I don't swet it. There are only a few morons that happen across the forums but they soon fade away. If people want to take the time to set up alternate names to just put a negative feedback to a user, then I'd say they are the ones with the real problems.

btw Ray - I can't leave you any more feedback. It says I need to spread more around first (I don't know how much that is). Not that I am trying to crank up your points, but it'd be nice if we could post positive comments a second time for someone (I've spread it around to a few dozen others). There have only been two occasions when I have left negative feedback and I made sure I put my screenname on it as well.

Another scenario, what is to stop people signing up with more than one account and then giving themselves positive reputation?

So many 'ifs' and 'what abouts' coming to mind here.

I don't imagine that its a big deal either way. Nobody is going to be banned because their reputation points nor are they going to recieve any kind of bonus. Sort of like the post counts. Nice to look at, but doesn't amount to much else.

I'm not really sweating these rep points but its just drives my curiosity crazy. B/c I looked today and I have a new negative rep point. And the thread it came from I didn't say anything that would offend anyone. I dont know just drives me kinda . Oh well.

Re: IWC Re Reputation

You know I think they might be ok the way they have them set up now, beacause you can click on the post that the rep point cam from. So you can see if they got the rep point from a person who is new and is just mad or if they got a rep point from someone b/c they helped them out.

I have no idea how this thing works. What boxes? I'm so confused.
