Experts- advice needed

Ok hi guys!

This is kind of a vierd question but anyway....

Does this seem like a resonable idea?

I would like to buy( in near future) a 325 or some used bmw from the 3 series.Age:92-98 Max Miles:100,000 For 7 k or less

I know this is possible as i have seen these prices. Is it worth it to buy such an old car? If so what do you think i should do with it(mods? new engine? etc)

THx for any replies

Any beamer in that price range is going to be a piece of junk, especially if it has under 100k. I inspect and appraise used cars for a living and most the cars in the age/mileage range you are describing are $12k+.

7k can get you a nice 94-95 3 series is. i would only buy from pp if they have paper work on their car (oil changes, any type of changes or replacements) and to see how aggressively they drove it, its hard to find them for that price with under 100k, usually people who drive the E36's drive the shit out of them. I got my 94 325is with 45k miles back in 2001 for 7.5k not bad, bought it from a guy who took good care of it, i put like 20k miles on it for 2 years, and I sold it for 9k with very little mods, and I had all of the paperwork to show the next owner.

I've seen some 1997 7-series for 8k, and with a car inspection approval, check autotrader.com.

I wouldn't really recomend getting one that old. If you like the body style of the 318ti, you'll probably be able to find a pretty cheap one somewhere. It is kind of hard to find a BMW for $7k in a good condition. Most 95 M3's still go for about $15+. Good luck, it'll be kind of hard to find one.
