fan and fan clutch uninstall? 97 tahoe
how the hell do you get the fan and asssembly off of teh damn water pump? I got a '97 tahoe and I'm trying to replace the water pump, but I can't seem to get the fan assembly off. I've tried everything. Is there a specialty tool that I need?

You are going to need a special tool for that job.
It includes a holding fixture for the pump and a wrench for the fan,

Fasten this to the pulley and hub using two of the pulley fastening bolts. This is then used to hold the pulley/hub while you loosen the big nut with a 12" crescent wrench. |
